'We know that physical, social, emotional and economic wellbeing have a significant impact on children and young people's success in school and beyond school. We also know that aspects of these factors are significant barriers to learning and achievement for a large proportion of our learners'

Glee Challenge, Singing Schools and the HGIOS Framework

Key to overcoming the barriers highlighted above is a learner partnered self evaluation approach to school improvement. HGIOS 4 provides a suite of quality indicators that support school staff to look inwards, scrutinise their work and evaluate what is working well for learners and what could be better. Various aspects of the Glee Challenge, the Glee Framework and our Singing Schools initiative can help when gathering evidence to demonstrate and measure progress against these indicators.
